IT STARTED WITH A WARNING…
In 2004…
When we took over The Loft in 2004, we received a warning we laughed off:
“Have fun closing at night — in this building,
you’re never alone.”
Over the years, unexplained noises, strange movements, and unsettling incidents became harder to dismiss and even harder to explain. Guests approached us unprompted, describing moving shadows, shifting objects, and what they believed were spirits in the building.
However, all we really knew was that warning was beginning to feel less like a joke.
The investigations
In 2016…
In 2016, a paranormal investigation team approached us after several dinner visits with different mediums. The team had heard similar accounts from each; enough to ask permission to investigate The Loft after hours.
Since then, multiple teams have investigated the building after closing, each contributing their findings and interpretations. Together with the experiences of our staff and guests, they’ve added new layers to a story we’re still trying to understand.
Who Randall Is Believed to Be
During late-night investigations, several mediums reported making contact with a spirit named Randall. Two mediums, in separate investigations, said he identified himself as a laborer and caretaker who worked in the building in the 1900s.
They described him as having a short temper and little patience for disrespect. In their accounts, Randall wasn’t the only presence in the building but he was the one in charge.
His favorite spot is said to be the last barstool at the end of the upstairs bar. An unassuming seat that continues to spark curiosity, unexplained experiences and more than a few stories of its own.
What We’ve Collected

Beyond the firsthand accounts of staff and guests, we’ve collected video footage, audio recordings, and unexplained movement captured during after-hours investigations. We’re still bringing these materials together, and new experiences continue to add to the story.
